BLAUER TACTICAL SYSTEMS
LEGAL
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026 — Effective immediately on posting
Plain language, no fine print. This explains what we collect when you sign up for Field Notes, what we do with it, and how you stay in control.
SECTION 01
Who We Are
This site is owned and operated by Blauer Tactical Systems, Inc. (“Blauer Tactical,” “we,” “us,” “our”). We are the data controller for the information described here. Questions, requests, or complaints go to legal@blauertactical.com and a human reads them.
This policy applies to this site and the Field Notes program. It does not extend to third-party websites we link to — check their policies before giving them your data.
SECTION 02
What We Collect
We collect only what we need to send you the material you asked for. You give us this information voluntarily when you sign up.
- Full name — so we can address you personally.
- Email address — to deliver the Field Notes newsletter.
- Phone number (with country code) — to deliver Field Notes by text message.
- Country — to respect regional laws and send at sane hours.
- SMS consent — a clear yes/no on whether you agree to receive text messages.
- Basic technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring page, collected automatically when you visit.
We do not collect payment card details on this page, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal data (health, biometrics, precise geolocation, race, religion, or political opinions).
SECTION 03
How We Use It
We use your information to deliver what you asked for: the Field Notes newsletter by email and, when you have opted in, Field Notes, alerts, and occasional marketing communication by text message. We also use it to respond to you, to keep our records accurate, and to understand in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not send unsolicited spam.
SECTION 04
Legal Basis (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the UK GDPR, on one or more of these bases:
- Consent — you asked to receive Field Notes by email, and separately consented to text messages. You may withdraw either at any time.
- Contract — processing necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site secure, preventing abuse, and improving the service, where this does not override your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we are required by law to retain or disclose data.
Where your data is transferred outside the EEA or UK (our systems are hosted in the United States), we rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses with our processors.
SECTION 05
Your Rights — GDPR / UK
Subject to the limits set out in law, you have the right to:
- Be informed about how your data is collected and used — this document.
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data erased (the “right to be forgotten”).
- Restrict our processing of your data.
- Data portability — receive a copy in a machine-readable format.
- Object to processing, including direct marketing.
- Not be subject to automated decision-making or profiling. We do not use either.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any right, email legal@blauertactical.com. We respond within one month, and will tell you if we need more time. We do not charge a fee for reasonable requests.
SECTION 06
Your Rights — California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information we collect, why, and who we share it with.
- Right to access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not collect it.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
In the twelve months preceding the date below, we collected identifiers (name, email, phone, country, IP address) and internet activity data, for the purposes in Section 03. We disclosed this information only to the service providers named in Section 07, under contracts that prohibit them from using it for their own purposes. We did not sell or share personal information, and we do not knowingly sell the personal information of consumers under 16.
To submit a request, email legal@blauertactical.com with “California Privacy Request” in the subject line. We verify requests by matching the details you provide against our records, and you may use an authorized agent.
SECTION 07
Who Processes Your Data
Your information is stored in GoHighLevel, our customer relationship management platform, which we use to manage subscribers and send email and text messages. Text messages are delivered by GoHighLevel’s telecom carriers. Site hosting and basic analytics providers may process technical data as described in Section 02. Each of these acts as a processor or service provider on our behalf, under contract, and may not use your data for its own purposes.
We may disclose data where legally required — a court order, a lawful government request, or to protect our rights. If our business is sold or transferred, subscriber data may transfer with it, and you will be notified and given the option to have your data deleted.
SECTION 08
Text Messages (SMS)
If you check the SMS consent box, you agree to receive SMS notifications, alerts, and occasional marketing communication from Blauer Tactical Systems. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. We do not share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing.
If you do not provide a valid phone number, or do not consent, we cannot send Field Notes to your phone. Email delivery is not affected.
SECTION 09
Cookies & Tracking
This site uses only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary to make it work, plus limited analytics to count visits and measure whether sign-ups succeed. We do not run advertising pixels or retargeting on this page. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; core functionality may degrade if you do. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where your browser sends them.
SECTION 10
Security & Retention
Your submission is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and handled server-side; the destination of your data is never exposed in your browser. We apply reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial safeguards. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep your information for as long as you are a subscriber, and review our records periodically. We delete it when you ask us to, or when it is no longer needed to deliver Field Notes, unless we are required to keep it by law.
SECTION 11
Children’s Privacy
Field Notes is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has signed up, contact us and we will remove the record.
SECTION 12
